I love this show so much. I’ve always loved this show. I loved the film when it first came out (pardon the pun), I sat through most of it with my jaw gaping, as so much of that world was unknown to me at the time. When the show first came out in London I remember going to see it with Jason Donovan playing Tick and I loved the show incarnation just as much as the film. I remember almost everyone in the audience being female, and I went with Andy, who felt like he’d wandered into a Hen Party by mistake. He wasn’t wrong – it did feel like that.
Kevin Clifton is a revelation in this, in fact all the people on the stage were wonderful. It had some interesting choices, some I like and some I don’t, because of the change in flavour it gives. But Kevin Clifton – oh what a joy to see him dancing in some parts, properly letting himself out of the box.
